Three fantastic stakes races on turf make up this week's Key Races & Bets - the Central Park Stakes and Red Smith Stakes at Aqueduct as well as the Seabiscuit Stakes at Del Mar.

This week's edition of Key Races and Bets starts with a very exciting stakes race on the grass in New York - the Gio Ponti Stakes. We continue with a race for two year olds at Hawthorne then go west for the Cary Grant Stakes and a wide open turf race at Del Mar.

This week's Key Races & Bets podcast covers three particularly superb betting races at Keeneland on opening weekend. The first is the Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes, a "Win & You're In" qualifying race for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint in four weeks. Another is the Claiborne Breeders' Futurity, with 14 horses vying for their spot in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile next month.

There are a lot of great races around the country on the first Saturday in October but some of the best are at Santa Anita, including the Santa Anita Sprint Championship Stakes, the Eddie D. On a day with a stakes loaded card at Parx Racing (near Philadelphia) the focus is on three of those big races - the Turf Monster Stakes, the $1 million Cotillion Stakes (for fillies) and the $1 million Pennsylvania Derby (for males), as well as a bonus race, the Downs at Albuquerque Handicap.
